Are Jeans Fashionable?

The term ‘fashion’ refers to a dominant mode of expression. Although the term ‘fashion’ can apply to a wide range of fields, from interior design and architecture to economics and technology, many people associate fashion with clothing. What a certain culture understands by fashion is goodness and beauty. What goes by these criteria will therefore be fashionable. What doesn’t fit in that particular mode of expression will be considered unfashionable. When used, the word ‘fashion’ usually has a positive meaning and is frequently associated with the concepts of style and glamour. However, when referring to a person as being materialistic or trendy, the term ‘fashion’ has a negative connotation.

The idea of making a statement through fashion goes back to the sixteenth century in Europe, so we can say that fashion is more than four centuries old. Still, what most people understand by fashion – expression through clothes – only began to express itself in the eighteenth century on the old continent.

Fashion varies depending on many factors, among which the most important are time and society. How fashion changes over time is more than obvious. Young and people have distinct concepts of fashion. Their perceptions of fashion are not interchangeable, as everyone knows it would be ridiculous to see an old man dressed in a young man’s clothes and the other way around. There are also multiple perceptions of fashion within a society, according to age, occupation, generation, social class and so on.

The most prominent feature of fashion is that it is constantly subjected to change. Not too many people regard this constant change as productive, since it encourages consumers to purchase things unnecessarily, just out of the pleasure of constantly experiencing something interesting and new.

As far as clothes are concerned, how can we decide what is fashionable what is unfashionable? How do we decide what to wear? Do we go by the latest fashion trends and become fashion victims, or do we stick to what we know looks good on us? Tough choice! The idea of fashion in the 21st century refers mostly to high-heeled shoes, handbags, sports suits, designer jeans and ripped jeans.

Jeans are a choice for many people, as they are easy to suit, practical and comfortable. Although most of the jeans are made from denim, they may also come in a variety of other fabrics. Jeans are most popular with teenagers, but they are now gaining popularity with other age categories as well. At their origin, the jeans were work clothes, but they began to be worn outside work places at the middle of the 20th century when they became popular among other social categories.

When most people think of jeans, they think of a casual way of dressing. The choice of color and style is a very wide one. Nowadays jeans come in so many styles that it is virtually impossible not to find at least one pair of jeans that will suit you perfectly.
But jeans don’t vary on color alone. There are also various types of jeans according to the fits. The jeans fits can go from straight or loose to slim, baggy or skinny, from high-waisted to superlow-waisted.

One thing’s for sure, jeans will never be unfashionable. A certain style will always be developed in order to keep up with the latest trends in fashion. So, if you want to be fashionable, but also comfortable, a pair of jeans is a safe choice.

Hen Night Fashion Ideas

The hen night is an event that everyone should remember for the rest of their life. And because everything is going to be kept in your heart a long time from now on, all the details have to be regarded with great care. The organizer of this party is in charged with a lot of things to consider, among which we mention the participants, the location, the supplies and also the theme of the party that has the role of setting the type of outfit anyone should wear.

The one that takes care of the party has to consult the bride to be and the other attendants in order to decide what type of clothing this event requires. There are people who believe that what you wear on this occasion isn’t important and that you will remember just the fun you had. But for others, the outfit is essential. Beside the fact that it may influence your state of mind through the comfort ability it offers, it may also be a physical memory, as you can keep certain items of clothing for nostalgic moments.

As we said before, it is very important to know exactly the location of the party and also the theme it has, as these two things are essential in picking out an outfit for the party. If you choose to have it in a spa center or at a dancing course, there is nothing much you can keep from your clothing, but if it is in a club or in a private location, things change.

One of the things that are preferred on such occasions is the t-shirt. This is an item that can be personalized easily and in many different ways. The most common ways to transform this everyday item into a special one is by printing a certain message or by putting a photo on it. The message has to be a funny one, in order to cause laughter when looking at it, and usually the bride has to have a message that differs from the ones the others have.

If we prefer putting a picture on the t-shirt, we may choose one revealing a funny moment between the future bride and groom or one that marks an important event for the girls present. However, in case you don’t have time for these kinds of arrangements, you can always turn to specialized shops that offer you various and crazy outfits and accessories. The most important thing is to enjoy these moments and to remember them always.

Knowing More About Fashion Design History

If you are looking to be one of the great fashion designers on the time you have to keep in mind that the fashion designer of today did not become great over night, most of them learn about fashion design history. Now, this does not mean that you have to too, but you will find that if you want to get into fashion, you will need to know the ins and outs of the industry. This means that you will want to go to some kind of a fashion designing school or college. If you do this you will find that many fashion schools will touch on fashion design history, and this will be done because the history of fashion design it is important.

You may not think that it is when you are starting out, but when you become a huge name brand, which you probably dream of, you will find that you will need to pull ideas from all walks of life. This means that you will get a client that needs to have a dress made with influences as far back as the 1800’s. If you do not know about the history of fashion at that point, you will find that you will end up turning that client away.

The first thing that a client wants to hear when they ask you for a piece is an idea or two. You need to be able to know what you are talking about, and the only way that this is going to happen is if you were to already know about the period of the piece they are looking for you to create. The history is not made to bore you, and it is not there to just tell you about what happened those days in fashion. It is not a new update; it has more to do with the history of all the designs, so that you are able to see what fashion has gone through and what the fashion looked like.

You will also find that a lot of the fashion of the 1980’s are returning these days, so fashion from the 60’s, you will find, is back too. This is why it is important for you to know about the history of fashion design, because if the industry was suddenly to take a turn for that era, you will be left behind.

You will need to know about the art influence on fashion from the 1800’s and that it was all started by one man that was not afraid to show what he had to do. That is the key to becoming a great fashion designer, but you need to know that you will have to have fashion that people will buy.

Handbags, shoes and whole lot of other things make up the fashion industry, so you will need to know a little more about the fashion design history of these things too, if you are going to make fashion accessories and not just clothes.

Futuristic Trends in Men’s Fashion

Fashion shows are no foreign concept and contrary to what you may believe they have a strong influence over your wardrobe. In my endeavor to find out what the future has in store in the men’s fashion front; I embarked on a tour that concluded in Montreal, Canada. Montreal has long been known as the official “Headquarters of the Canadian Rag Trade,” and the city bustles with high profile, prize winning designers in “Rue de la Montagne” fashion district.

Although the formal wear and classic cuts featured in many trend reports online are universal, I looked to Montreal for directional message in menswear. Forget the hype, in this article I present 3 futuristic trends that have the potential of taking over the high fashion streets and also easy enough to be adopted by the average man.

Military Inspiration

Prepare to defend yourself against the clothing rudiments that salute everything military. Spearheading the pack is Rudsack; available was a range of military regalia like the clip-on leather hoods, 3/4 fatigues with cargo pockets – also featured in leather, four pocket jacket, flight pants, just to name a few. Though the headgear may appear too literal, its military inspiration is irresistible. To adopt this trend you’ll have to opt details such as utilitarian pockets on jackets and rivets on belts. Embrace the trend full with combat boots that are functional as well as stylish.

Mix and match

Dinh Ba is active with his idea combo. Dinh Ba paired various colors, prints and styles to achieve an individual look. I saw a black-and-white pinstripe oxford under a sandblasted printed blazer worn with casual motorcycle boots. While this kind of mixing and matching is best left on the runway, the idea is correct. The message is to achieve a look by mixing and matching different elements, even within a single item.

Lopsidedness

How does something like a classic sweater or jacket get updated season after season? Based on designer ‘Philippe Dubucs show, it’s all in the details; asymmetrical ones so to say. Similar to the big scarves, the neckline also appears to be an area of focus in Montreal; this was achieved through asymmetrical layers and zip-closures. I particularly liked the heavyweight pull-over jacket featuring a zipper that extends from the neckline to the armpit. Other more abstract pieces include a scarf -like vest with asymmetrical layering and leather zipper detailing. While some of these ideas are more conceptual than wearable, your best bet is to find some sweaters with interesting asymmetry next fall to provide a trendy alternative to your basics. This look should be reserved for weekend attire, and opt for darker colors to avoid excessive competition with the details.

“Mont-Royal” fashion trends

Let’s put things in perspective, there is no doubt that a runaway show is nothing but a “show.” Everything presented during the fashion week is always styled in a way that communicates and reinforces a designer’s message besides attracting the media attention. In this article I presented ideas that go beyond the hype to help you achieve a refined final look for the season.

Fashion Is About More Than Clothes

As a Christian we say “don’t dress like the world,” but what is worldly when it comes to dress? I think we can learn something about what it is by what the world say about dress? I think also we can learn about it by discerning what’s behind the sad looking, gaunt expressions of the models who stride down the runways displaying the latest fashion ideas. What they seem to be saying may relate to the spirit behind the whole business that they are in. Sad and empty. This was evidenced recently as I read about a world-renown wealthy Italian fashion designer who a few years ago was murdered in cold-blood – and some of what the fashion world and its editors wrote about him after his death:

One writer suggested that he understood that fashion was about more than clothes. He knew that a simple dress could also make allusions to art, music, architecture, and the cult of celebrity. Another said his style was flamboyant, profoundly sexy, and often crossed the line into a wonderful, dangerous vulgarity.

In writing about his style, they said he unapologetically cut dresses obscenely low or ridiculously high. But he could also cut a perfect suit that blended classic lines with delicate sensuality. And fashion for him was a glamorous, colorful, sensual world. The article indicates as well that he was a homosexual and designed men’s wear accordingly.

Through such comments as these about this one designer and in looking generally at those who represent the world of fashion design, it’s not difficult to sense the spirit behind the whole scene of today’s fashions? They also give more than a hint why the poor models look so lost and hopeless? How does any of it line up with the Word of God? It doesn’t.

Everyone’s life in various ways will reflect what or whom they admire or follow. And without doubt the story of Gianni Versace ‘s life, his work and his wealth sheds a great deal of light on the world of fashion. As a Christian I should be concerned with what the story of my life will reveal? Will it highlight my desire to dress like the world – or will it reveal that my life’s goal is to always reflect in all that I say and do – the purity of Christ?
